What is a deposition?
A deposition is a rather formal question and answer period. It is done under oath in front of a court reporter who will take down everything that is said. The attorneys get to ask the witness questions and the witness has to answer these questions. It can be a short deposition, which is an hour or two, or to a very long deposition that can actually take a couple of days. That is the time where you get to find out everything that the witness knows.
