After the complaint is filed, then what typically happens is a process called discovery. All it means is that you really are trying to discover from the other side about their case, who their witnesses are going to be, what their witnesses will say, what kinds of documents they have. So this whole discovery process is when you really get to find out everything you can about the other side. So that ultimately will help you prepare for a trial.
